Thorne Group's entry into the 2022 Master Builders Awards is a home designed and built for a golf loving couple in their retirement. We take a closer look at The Thorne Group's entry (and their flooring) for the 2022 year:
Registered Master Builders House of the Year 2022 category: Altus Window Systems New Home $750,000 - $1 million, Bay of Plenty & Central Plateau
Builder: Thorne Group
Hard flooring: Quantum's Hydrocork in "Alaska Oak"
Garage carpet: Needlepunch velour-style carpet in "Anthracite Charcoal"
Home to a golf-loving retired couple, this house enjoys views across the golf course and out to sea, from almost every room.
Modern but timeless, gable forms and traditional details such as exposed trusses and natural stonework feature, while pitched ceilings create a sense of height and volume.
Flooring featured in the open plan kitchen and casual living zone is Hydrocork. A luxury Portugal flooring brand Hydrocork is a low thickness and waterproof flooring solution that combines extreme performance with the comfort of cork.
At the heart of the property is the open-plan kitchen with walk-in pantry, and flowing living zones that can easily be converted into more intimate spaces to accomodate visitors. Sun streams through north-facing windows while the covered patio provides shade in summer months.
At Gerrand Floorings We have a proud association with the annual Master Builders Awards and work alongside many builders with entries into the prestigious industry event. We are also sponsors of the Lifestyle Award for Interiors.
